If I log into windows and do nothing and select hibernate, the screen goes blank but the power button stays lit up and there is disk activity for about 10 minutes then it crashes with the Driver_Power_State_Failure message. If I log into windows and do nothing and select sleep.Having made the small change (icon size) and selected shut down, If I wait for a couple of minutes while it hangs and then press and hold the power button to force a power off, on restarting the laptop starts normally and the change has been remembered by windows. There is hard disc activity as the light is flashing. it just hangs with the words 'Shutting down' on the screen and the little circle going round and round. If I log into windows and make just one change eg: change the size of the icons on the desktop and then select shut down.If I simply log into windows and do nothing and then select shut down it shuts down OK.If when you get to the windows login page where you input a password and use the red button (bottom right) to select shut down - it shuts down OK.I have tried various other things to try and isolate the problem. I did the factory reset by pressing the F8 key on boot up, selecting 'Repair your Computer' and followed the options which led to the factory reset from the hard drive. I ran the Diagnostics as requested and no errors were found.
